My aim is to start a company that we would serve the society with products based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) .
For this, my prior experience with conceptualization and planning of a product would play a vital role. The company, that I had a vision of, was slated to be named as “The Last Resort” in-line with the problem it was supposed to solve.
– Problem: Lack of good quality reference material to help the students understand the gist of a topic in a very short time span.
– Solution: A product that would act as a last resort for students instead of lengthy reference materials, due to the time constraints. This, in-turn, would discourage assimilation of information from unreliable sources.
STEPS THAT HAD BEEN TAKEN TO MAKE THIS PRODUCT A REALITY
1. Finding the target audience - Market research
Had surveyed and found that "B.Tech - Instrumentation and Control Engineering (ICE)" students of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University didn't have access to plethora of reference materials as compared to other engineering undergraduates (Computer Science, Electronics etc.). So, our target audience for the product was pin-pointed to ICE students.
2. Finding the competitors
Assessed the market and found that there were two major players that offered reference materials
- Bhavya Books
- Akash books.
3. Finding the gaps between the SERVICES offered by competitors and the DEMAND of students
The content in these reference materials was unreliable. This led to students grasping incorrect knowledge about different engineering concepts, which, ultimately made them unemployable.
4. Aggregating the RESOURCES to make "The LAST RESORT" a reality
5. Finding the DISTRIBUTORS for the LAST RESORT
Interacted with the personnel of college photocopy shop inside the campus of Bharati Vidyapeeth's College of Engineering. Convinced her to sell the products of "The Last Resort" to the college students.
6. Arrangement of the Printing press for the
Sister's friend's father had a publishing house in Delhi, India. He would've helped us in getting the copies ready to be distributed.
However, due to unstable conditions at home – diagnosis and treatment of mother’s cancer - more important things had to be prioritized and this startup didn't see the light of day.
