My Premature CONCEIVED IDEAS employing AI as an application in robotics, vision, transportation and automotive systems
1. Autonomous rescuer
We can solve the menace and the traffic jam (that results due to breakdown of vehicles) by employing UAVs and installing autonomous cranes/machines along the highway to pick up the vehicle immediately and place on a side road. The interactive intelligent system would help in interacting with the emergency services, predicting an accident and avoiding vehicle pile-up.
2. Intelligent suspension for vehicles
A new kind of suspension for vehicles can be developed that senses the road ahead and adjusts the suspension’s stiffness along with the ride height of the vehicle using AI even before the car approaches the bump or a pothole.
3. Intelligent headlight system
Intelligent systems can be designed and installed in vehicles that can control the intensity of the headlight (depending on the distance between the oncoming car and the actual car) to cause minimum headlight glare from oncoming cars on a road without median. This in-turn would reduce the hazard of headlight glare.
4. Intelligent tire inflator/deflator
Many road accidents occur due to the negligence of drivers in maintaining the optimum tire pressure (e.g. 35 psi) on their vehicles. Due to the high speed of the vehicle on the highways and expressways, tire pressure varies and in extreme cases leads to bursting of tire. This ultimately leads to accidents and loss of life.
Using an AI based inflator/deflator, the system would inflate or deflate all the tires of the car during the journey and keep the tire pressure constant at the optimum level without any intervention by the driver.
5. Traffic violation checker
Using high frame rate camera, traffic violations can be monitored on the intersections and at traffic signals e.g. (a. red light jumping, b) whether the vehicle is stopping before the stopping line or not.)
The camera would also identify the number plate/the face of the driver and issue a traffic violation ticket immediately.
6. Improving the efficiency and speed of elevators
At times it happens that the elevator in a building is almost full with people, however, the elevator still stops at the request of a person waiting outside the lift. The outside person can't come inside the elevator since it is operating at almost its maximum capacity. In addition to this, the time of the people inside the elevator is also wasted due to the unnecessary stoppage.
In order to combat that, the elevators can be installed with an intelligent device that rejects the request of a person outside the elevator if the lift is already operating at 95% of the sanctioned weight load.
